Investigations Support Unit (ISU) Liverpool City Council

The Investigations Support Unit (ISU) is a social work staffed unit, located within Community Safety at Liverpool City Council. ISU’s role in relation to children & young people who are /at risk of being sexually exploited (SECYP) is to offer an information management service to assist risk reduction in relation to the young person(s) and to assist police colleagues in the identification, investigation and prosecution/disruption of the activities of individuals identified as posing a risk of sexual exploitation to the young person(s). We do not exercise case-management responsibilities but assist in identification of risk (nature, degree) and in devising risk-reduction strategies.
