Region: North West
Engage is a new multi agency group that has been launched to tackle sexual exploitation of young people in Blackburn with Darwen. It is the successor to Operation Engage, a police led campaign that ran for two years to work with young and vulnerable people considered to be at risk of being sexually exploited while missing from home. Engage is made up of social workers, police officers from Lancashire Constabulary, youth workers, a representative from Brook, and a CROP worker . A health worker has joined the team and children’s charity Barnardo’s has added two young peoples workers also. They report to the Local Safeguarding Children’s Board.
