The AWARE Project - The Relationship Centre

Region: North West

The AWARE Project ‘A Whole Approach to Reducing Exploitation’

  • The AWARE Project, funded by Comic Relief and delivered by The Relationships Centre is a new project from the charity who currently delivers the Talk Don’t Walk Project for young runaways. The focus of AWARE is to actively engage young people at risk of or who are engaging in exploitative relationships in Warrington & Halton.
  • The AWARE Project works in conjunction with partner agencies to ensure young people get targeted effective support. The referral process to AWARE is through Social Care as safeguarding is at the heart of the project.
  • By engaging on AWARE young people will develop a greater understanding of healthy and unhealthy relationships, peer pressure, emotional literacy, risky and protective behaviours, personal safety and future goals.
  • The aim of the Project is to reduce the number of young people affected by CSE, readdressing the balance of power and putting the young person back in control of their lives.

Remit area: North - West England (specifically Warrington & Halton, Cheshire)
