The Child Exploitation and Online Protection (CEOP) Centre and the Australian Federal Police (AFP) have formally joined forces to strengthen their cooperation tackling the increased threat of online child sex abuse including online grooming, the production and dissemination of child sex abuse images and travelling sex offenders.
Peter Davies, Chief Executive of CEOP, and Neil Gaughan, Assistant Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding, at the Virtual Global Taskforce (VGT) conference in Lyon, France.
Both agencies will adopt strategies to enhance current arrangements for sharing information and criminal intelligence about priority cases.
CEOP and AFP will also share expertise and knowledge of particular issues associated with child sex abuse and child sexual exploitation to enhance understanding and develop collective responses.
